Just before Labor Day S.B.S.A. holds an Open Studios Tour. This year Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28, 2011.

The annual Weekend Open Studios Tour runs from 11 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday, and includes an Advance Party from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday August 4 (Same night as the Downtown's First Thursday celebration) and a second Opening Night Reception on the Friday evening before the Tour, August 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The artists will be present at both receptions.

A preview exhibition that includes a piece of each participant's work runs for a month before the Tour, at the Santa Barbara Frame Shop and Gallery.The Gallery is located at Arlington Plaza, 1324 State Street. You can start your tour from there (tickets for the Tour may be purchased there) and you may decide which studios you most want to visit. Tickets cost $25 for adults. Children 12 and under are free.
