Canvas - Paper - Collage

After working with many media, I am currently working with woodblock, collage, and mixed media. I enjoy the challenge of moving from one medium to another. My approach is semi-abstract using botanical themes and materials. My pallet also takes its inspiration from nature. My compositions are balanced through line, color and shape.

My formal art education began at UCLA and continued at California State University campuses. I was fortunate to study with Toshi Yoshida, the renowned Japanese woodblock printer, in the 1960's. Inspired by my study with Toshi Yoshida, I have pursued woodblock printing to this day. I have been actively in the Santa Barbara artist community as a member of the Monotype Guild and the Santa Barbara Printmakers group. I served on the first board of directors of the Santa Barbara Studio Artist group.
