For the last two decades, research has shown that patients recover more quickly and use less medication when exposed to various artistic elements. This correlation between artistic expression and patient healing is what has led Cottage Hospital to develop plans for a Healing Arts Program. Santa Barbara Studio Artists want to help Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital in their efforts to provide beautiful art to help promote patient healing.

Tickets will sell for $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00 and the drawing will be held at 3 PM on the Sunday afternoon of the tour. Both original pieces by Kathleen Elsey and Kristen Hawkes will be given to the first and second place winners,respectively.

28 Santa Barbara Studio Artists are opening their studios year round, most at short notice.
Now art lovers can call participating artists to arrange a private visit at any time throughout the year. There is no cost for these visits, which are subject to the availability of the artists. You and your guests and community groups are welcome to explore the working space of local artists in a wide variety of media.
