About Sophia’s Art
As an abstract painter, I'm drawn to the captivating effect of rich colors and their ability to evoke emotions. My work is centered on capturing the essence of subjects through the skillful use of hues, simplified shapes, creative arrangements, and intuitive marks. My emphasis on color has become a defining aspect of my artistic style. With a background in graphic design and illustration, I seamlessly transitioned into fine art, creating art that expresses my inner landscape.
My process involves an interplay between intuition and cognition. Each piece begins with a spark of inspiration, leading to playful experimentation on the canvas. Working with multiple pieces simultaneously (in series) allows me to establish harmony and unity throughout my body of work. I refine each piece until it resonates deeply with me. I embrace the freedom to explore without being confined to a specific style, allowing my work to evolve organically.
